Q.: Are daily tickets available?
A.: Yes, daily ticketed can be purchased at the gate for $15.

Q.: Are tickets refundable?
A.: No, all ticket sales are final.

Q.: How can I get a copy of the Official Program?
A.: The Souvenir Program Book is free and is available at the main spectator gate and Public Information.

Q.: Where will Will-Call be located?
A.: Will Call is located at the Public Parking lot, located at Centennial and Brint Roads.

PARKING

Q.: Where is general public parking?
A.: Public Parking is located at Centennial and Brint Road.

 

Q.: Do I have to pay for parking?
A.: Yes, daily parking is $5 and Weekly Parking Passes are available at the tournament office for $10.
 

Q.: I'm going, but don't want to drive. Can I take public transportation?

HANDICAP INFORMATION
Q.: Is there handicap parking?
A.: Yes, handicap parking is located at Highland Elementary School at 7720 Erie St.

 

Q.: Is there a special viewing area for the handicap?
A.: Yes, there is a handicapped section at the 18th Green.

 

Q.: Is there a special way for handicap persons to get to special viewing areas?
A.: Electric scooters are available at the main spectator gate on a first-come, first-served basis.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES
Q.: What is the Tournament’s camera policy?
A.: Photographs are permitted during the practice rounds, Monday through Wednesday. Photographs are NOT permitted during tournament play, Thursday through Sunday. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

 

Q.: What items may be brought onto the course?
A.: Umbrellas and non-metal canvas chairs WITHOUT armrests are permitted.

 

Q.: What items are prohibited on the course?
A.: Please do not bring radios, portable televisions, strollers, bicycles, lawn chairs, picnic baskets, cellular telephones, pagers, laptop computers, coolers, ladders or signs onto the grounds. Bags are subject to search upon entering the Tournament.

 

Q.: What is the Rain Policy?
A.: The LPGA tournament officials determine whether there will be a delay or play will resume.

 

Q.: What is the tournament's Weather Warning policy?

A.: Observe the leader boards throughout the golf course for the Weather Warning Sign that will appear if the LPGA becomes aware that inclement weather is moving into the area. When the sign appears, spectators are advised to take precautions and seek shelter PRIOR to play being suspended. If the siren sounds, it is important that you put down your umbrella and seek shelter immediately.

GENERAL SPECTATOR INFORMATION

Q.: What hours are the gates open?
A.: Gates open one hour prior to the first tee time.

 

Q.: Are Pairing Guides free or do I have to pay for one?
A.: Official Pairings Guides are free and will be available at various locations throughout the course.

 

Q.: What should be avoided during inclement weather?
A.: Avoid the following: Bleachers, bodies of water, telephone poles, metal or wire fences, golf carts, open fields, high places and tall or isolated trees.

 

Q.: I'd like to find out some other things to do in the area while I'm in town. Where can I find that information?
A.: Visit www.toledocvb.com for information on area restaurants, hotels, attractions and shopping.

 

Q.: Will there be an Information / Lost & Found Station on the course?
A.: Yes the Public Information Tent is located behind the 18th Green Bleacher and Lost and Found is located in the Security trailer located in the west side of the Clubhouse parking lot.

 

Q.: Where will be First Aid Stations be located?
A.: First aid is located next to the chipping practice area, the east side of the 18th fairway, the west side of the 16th green and the west side of the 14th fairway.

 

Q.: How can I make purchases at the tournament?
A.: Cash purchases are allowed at all concession stands. Cash and credit card purchases are available at the Pro Shop, Merchandise Tent and Clubhouse.

 

Q.: When is the Tournament televised?
A.: The tournament will be televised, Friday thru Sunday on ESPN2.

VOLUNTEERS

Q.: What should I do if I am interested in volunteering and I have questions?
A.: If you have questions regarding volunteering for the Tournament, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (419) 531-3277 or e-mail Volunteers@jfocc.com.

 

Q.: How can I sign up to volunteer?
A.: If you are interested in volunteering for the Tournament, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (419) 531-3277 to sign up over the phone or you may register on-line 24 hours a day at www.jamiefarrowenscorning.com.

 

Q.: How many hours must I work if I sign up to volunteer?
A.: Each volunteer is required to work three shifts. There are two shifts per day & a shift generally runs 3-4 hours.

 

Q.: Is there a required uniform?
A.: Yes, all volunteers are required to be in the official uniform, consisting of a Ash City shirt and a ball cap or visor. Volunteers must supply their own TAN pants, shorts or capris.

 

Q.: What do I get for volunteering?
A.: Volunteers who pay the $55 registration fee receive an official 2008 JFOCC logoed golf shirt, a choice of ball cap or visor, a Clubhouse Committee badge good for the entire week, a parking pass, and a Volunteer Appreciation Party ticket. Volunteers working and in uniform will also be allowed access to the Volunteer Tent where there will be an assortment of pre-packaged snacks, bagels and doughnuts, and beverages such as water, coffee, and Pepsi products.

 

Volunteers who pay the $12 registration fee receive an official 2008 JFOCC logoed t-shirt, ball cap, a Grounds Committee badge good for the entire week, a parking pass, and a Volunteer Appreciation Party ticket. Volunteers working and in uniform will also be allowed access to the Volunteer Tent where there will be an assortment of pre-packaged snacks, bagels and doughnuts, and beverages such as water, coffee, and Pepsi products.

 

Q.: How do I know what size shirt & bottoms to order?
A.: The Tournament Office has sample sizes of shirts. Please call or stop by the Tournament Office to try on sample sizes.

 

Q.: Do you need any youth volunteer?
A.: Yes, the JFOCC needs approximately 200 youth volunteers ages 11-17 to volunteer as Standard Bearers or Runners.

 

Q.: What is the Youth Volunteer fee?
A.: Youth volunteers pay the $12 registration fee. The Youth volunteer package consists of an official 2008 JFOCC logoed adult sized t-shirt, ball cap, a Grounds Committee badge good for the entire week, and a Volunteer Appreciation Party ticket. Volunteers working and in uniform will also be allowed access to the Volunteer Tent where there will be an assortment of pre-packaged snacks, bagels and doughnuts, and beverages such as water, coffee, and Pepsi products.

 

Q.: Where do volunteers park?
A.: Volunteers will park off of Brint and Centennial in Lot B. There will be a shuttle from the parking lot to the front gate entrance of the Tournament.

 

Q.: How do I know what committee I have been assigned to?
A.: You will receive a phone call from a director or hole captain after assignments have been made. Or you can call the Tournament Office at 419-531-3277.

 

Q.: When will I receive my work schedule?
A.: You will be contact about your schedule approximately four weeks prior to the Tournament.

 

Q.: When can I pick up my uniform?
A.: Uniform pick-up and volunteer training is scheduled for  June 30 and July 1 Please read the JFOCC Spring Newsletter for additional information as it becomes available.

 

Q.: What if I have a friend who wants to volunteer?
A.: The JFOCC will need over 1,200 volunteers! Please have anyone interested in volunteering call the Tournament Office at 419-531-3277 or visit our website at www.jamiefarrowenscorning.com

 

Q.: Will I be able to get any pro autographs?
A.: The LPGA requests that volunteers not approach pros for autographs while working and in uniform. The LPGA also requests that autographs be handled with discretion and only on the practice days, Monday through Wednesday.

 

Q.: When will my training meeting be scheduled?
A.: The volunteer training meeting schedule will be posted in the JFOCC Spring Newsletter along with the Uniform pick-up dates.

 

Q.: What if I can’t make my scheduled shift?
A.: Please contact your director or hole captain immediately if you are unable to work your assigned shift.

Q.: Can I bring in my own food or drink?
A.: No, outside food and beverages will not be allowed during the Tournament.

 

Q.: Can I bring a guest to the Volunteer Appreciation Party?
A.: Yes, a guest ticket can be purchased through the Tournament Office for $5. For additional information please call the Tournament Office at 419-531-3277.

Q.: When was the first Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic and where was it played?

 

A.: The first tournament was held in 1984 and held at the Glengarry Country Club.

Q.: Who won the first Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic?
A.: Laurie Merten

 

Q.: Where is Highland Meadows Golf Club Located?
A.: 7455 Erie St. Sylvania, OH.

 

Q.: What is the format of the Tournament?
A.: The format is 72 hole stroke play. The field will consist of 144 contestants.

 

Q.: Who is eligible to play in the Tournament?
A.: 142 LPGA players are eligible along with 2 tournament sponsors exemptions.

 

Q.: What will the cut be for the Tournament?
A.: The cut is the top 72 plays, plus ties.

 

Q.: What happens if there is a tie after 72 holes?
A.: A sudden death play-off will occur.

 

Q.: Has anyone won consecutive Tournaments?
A.: Se Ri Pak won back to back tournaments in 1998 and 1999.

 

Q.: Who has won the most Tournaments?
A.: Se Ri Pak is a five-time champion.
