2008
Dear JFOCC Volunteers,
Winter has finally stepped aside and thoughts of golf are
becoming reality. A special thank you to those volunteers that
registered early. By now you should have received your free
grounds badge certificate in the mail, if not, please contact
Heather Warga (419) 531-3277.
Although the early bird incentive has passed, I still encourage
our remaining volunteers to complete their registration.
Delaying registration hampers our Committee director’s ability
to plan and schedule manning, not to mention the increase in
Heather’s stress level.
With early tournament commitments from Paula Creamer, Natalie
Gulbis, Morgan Pressel, Laura Diaz, Nancy Lopez, and Suzann
Petterson, plus Sponsor’s exemptions to Michelle Wie (first
appearance since 2003) and Toledo native Stacy Lewis (likely to
be one her first professional events), it is shaping up to be an
exciting week. Don’t be left out.
Concerns, questions, or suggestions? I can most easily be
reached by email at srsaunders@firstenergycorp.com or (419)
321-7605 (days) and (419) 698-3571 (evenings). Thanks for your
continuing support.

Help Recruit Volunteers for 2008
You can help the JFOCC recruit new volunteers. The first way you
can help is to talk to your friends and neighbors and tell them
about why you choose to be a JFOCC volunteer. Direct your
friends to the volunteer area of the website at
www.jamiefarrowenscorning.com. The second way that you help is
by assisting us in getting opportunities to tell the JFOCC story
to groups in the community. Many of you are members of service
organizations or religious organizations (Seniors, Women’s,
Men’s, Youth groups) that invite speakers to their meetings.
Suggest to the schedulers that they consider a speaker from the
Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. The story of the JFOCC is
powerful and the Jamie Farr volunteer community is a wonderful
group of people. Please help us get the message out. To schedule
a JFOCC speaker, contact Dick Flaskamp at 419-450-3140 or
rhf@buckeye-express.com

JFOCC Goes Green
The 2008 JFOCC is GOING GREEN in response to encouragement from
our title sponsor, Owens Corning, and at the direction of the
tournament Board of Directors. What this means, among other
things, is that the VNews will only be distributed
electronically. It is import that the tournament organization
reduces its paper use and postage costs so in order to maximize
the funds available for distribution to our charities.
VNews will be sent monthly to all registered volunteers with a
valid email address on file at the Tournament Office. Volunteers
without email access can read VNews at the JFOCC website,
www.jamiefarrowenscorning.com. Internet access is available free
at all Toledo-Lucas County Public Libraries.
Thank you for your help in GOING GREEN.
